Lincolnshire and Piano Power

Piano Power loves our Lincolnshire students!  As a presence of the North Shore since 2001, we’re delighted to be a part of the vibrant Lincolnshire community.  (And we would argue that the Taste of Chicago has nothing on the Taste of Lincolnshire… but that’s just our opinion.)

Age recommendations

Private voice lessons are recommended for Lincolnshire students ages 9 and up.  Students younger than 9 have achieved benefits from voice lessons as well, and we’ll be happy to consider them on a case-by-case basis.  Voice students who have had a couple years of piano background find it particularly easy to jump right in.

Practice expectations

Your voice teacher will work with you to create a practice plan that works for your student’s schedule.  The single most important element of voice practice is regularity.  We know our Lincolnshire voice students are busy!  But devoting even a modest amount of time each day to voice practice produces much better results than relying on weekly “cram sessions.”  Ideally, your student will make voice practice a regular part of his or her day.

For accompaniment, a keyboard or piano

For effective voice lessons, you should plan to have a piano or keyboard available in the room where the lessons take place.  This way, the voice teacher will be able to accompany your student as he or she develops a strong sense of pitch, rhythm, and expression.

Piano Power recitals

We encourage our Lincolnshire voice students to participate in our twice-yearly recitals.  Our Lincolnshire voice students will find themselves in good company — many of our piano and guitar students already add vocal accompaniment to their recital performances.  A recital vocal performance is a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of your student’s voice lessons… and to make some new fans along the way!

We’re ready to match you with a great Lincolnshire voice teacher!
